The Ho-103 machine gun has a low damage output outside of 300 meters due to the low velocity, so the player should make sure to shoot within 300 meters.

The Ki 44 was able to include all these requirements: its engine was much more powerful, so the Ki 44 could reach 605 km/h and was armed with either 4 12, 7mm machine guns, 2 12,7mm and 2 20 mm cannons or 2 12,7 mm and 2 40 mm short barreled cannons which werent very effective as the fighter has to get very close to the enemy bomber.
